Biography
Lyndsey Notaro, mezzo-soprano, received her Master of Music in Voice & Opera from Northwestern University studying with Karen Brunssen. She is currently completing a Graduate Performance Diploma at the Peabody Institute studying with Margaret Baroody & Denyce Graves. Notaro performed Le Prince Charmant in Massenet’s Cendrillon at Peabody Institute; Mrs. Nolan in Menotti’s The Medium and Dorabella in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte at Northwestern University; La Maestra della Novizie in Puccini’s Suor Angelica at Si Parla, Si Canta and sang at Casa Verdi in Italy; Madame de la Haltière in Massenet’s Cendrillon, The Usher in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Trial By Jury, the 1st Stepsister in Warren Martin’s The True Story of Cinderella, and the Neighbor in Stravinsky’s Mavra at Illinois Wesleyan University. Notaro received her undergraduate training at Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. She has sung with Spritio Bravura directed by Molly Lindberg and the Alice Millar Chapel Choir directed by Stephen Alltop.
Lyndsey Notaro’s international studies include two summers at Si Parla, Si Canta in Italy. Interning at the Weiner Staatsoper with the director of casting and planning, Stephanie Wippel, Notaro helped plan the 150th Celebration of the Wiener Staatsoper, documented the tenure of artistic director Dominique Meyer, and arranged travel for the Staatsoper in Dusseldorf. In Austria, Notaro learned how important it is to be versatile and communicate effectively in multiple languages. She has traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, Russia, and China. She travelled as a delegate of the Vatican for the 100-year commemoration of the execution of the Romanovs and sang for the Pope at Domus Sanctae Marthae.
